Wii U version of Never Alone coming in June!

We’ve talked before about the decision to make Never Alone a puzzle platformer, and how the platformer is a genre with a long, storied history in the world of video games. That history wouldn’t exist without Nintendo games. From the first Super Mario Bros. through Super Mario 3D World, the word “Nintendo” has been synonymous with “great platformer” for 30 years now.

So we’re really excited to bring Never Alone to a Nintendo system this June!

The Wii U version of the game will feature all the improvements that we’ve made to Never Alone since its original launch back in November of 2014. It will still feature local co-op, Cultural Insights, and the rest of the immersive experience that led to award nominations from DICE, GDC, SXSW, BAFTA, Games for Change, and IndieCade. But it will also feature exclusive new content that we’re creating just for the Wii U version:

  • Play the entire game on the Wii U Gamepad, including all the Cultural Insight videos
  • Collect over 40 unique stylized Miiverse stamps featuring Nuna, Fox, Manslayer, Ukpik, and many more
  • Unlock all new Cultural Insights: In addition to the documentary-quality video interviews, the Wii U version features all new “Contextual Insights” — fascinating detail about the history, culture, and lives of the Iñupiaq people, presented on the Gamepad during the journey of Nuna and Fox
